Academy Training
Every August, Carlsbad Police Explorers attend an 8 day live-in Police Explorer Academy with other San Diego County Law Enforcement Explorers. Every Explorer must attend at least one academy while they are assigned to our Post. The San Diego County Law Enforcement Explorers Association holds the academy on campus at UCSD. Explorers will attend numerous classes in a quasi-militaristic environment, which emphasizes education, leadership, discipline, and physical fitness.

The academy is a unique opportunity for each Explorer to learn about teamwork and self-reliance, along with learning how to perform the many functions they will be asked to perform as an Explorer. By graduation day, Explorers gain a new level of self-confidence knowing they can accomplish anything they set their minds to.
